So, we finally broke down and bought a Dyson - The Animal, to be exact. I've been lusting after it for years, but it is absurdly expensive as vacuums go, and it just didn't seem reasonable. Our old vaccum cleaner just wasn't cutting it on the new carpet, and it was either spend about half of what a Dyson would cost now and then probably spend that same amount of money again in a couple of years, or just put down the whole chunk now. We went for it. I'm SO EXCITED. This thing is incredible. I've never seen anything like it. I kept hearing that I wouldn't believe how well it worked, but never in my wildest dreams did I realize it would be like this. It sucks fur and dust right out of the carpet, is incredibly easy to maneuver, and the mini turbine tool (the special fur sucking tool) is out of control. I ran it over the couch cushion, where Ted, the fluffiest cat in the world, had just moments before been napping, and it was instantly free of fur. The low reach floor tool grabs tumbleweeds of fur off of the concrete floors with ease, but has soft little runners on it so that it will never scratch the floor. Sigh. I must be an adult. I'm having way too much fun with this new toy.

First post!
Well, it's a little late since on Friday it will be two weeks since we moved, but I've decided to start a blog about moving, our fab new house, and the trials and tribulations associated with making it exactly what we want it to be.
It's so super exciting to go home to the new house every night, but I'm so exhausted I feel as though my body might give out at any second. I go home, sit down for a couple of minutes, and start working - putting things away, trying to clean, blah blah blah.
I think I might be just about done putting everything away in the kitchen - which means that I might not have to spend half of my nights doing dishes and running the dishwasher every single day anymore! This is very exciting news, especially since our brand new (well, to us), shiny dishwasher totally sucks. :(
So, pictures will be coming soon - be sure to check back here for frequent (I hope) updates!
